Abstract
The scaling theory is further explained in relation to the enthalpy of mixing for binary mixtures. The stability criterion is shown to explain certain qualitative features relating the signs of the enthalpy of mixing and the volume of mixing to the type of phase behaviour in accordance with Morrison’s conclusion.
