Abstract
The article deals with the idea of solidarity in international law. In particular, it focuses on the idea that solidarity is a(n) (emerging) principle of international law. It shows that solidarity belongs to the kind of normative principles, which, though essential for legitimation of international law, are not legally normative by the function they perform. Therefore, solidarity is not and should not be a principle of international law.
