Abstract

This thesis describes the determination and analysis of 3D-structures of enzymes from two different enzyme classes, the lytic transglycosylase MltF from Pseudomonas aeruginosa and two ω-transaminases, an (R)-selective transaminase from an Arthrobacter species and an (S)-selective transaminase from a Pseudomonas species. Lytic transglycosylases may present new targets for the development of broad-spectrum antibiotics, while the transaminases are of biotechnological importance.
