Abstract
This thesis provides new insight into the structural properties and phase transformations of the well-known thermoelectric material TAGS-85, which have been little studied in the literature. We have also explored the effects of doping TAGS-85 with transition metals and rare earths and have revealed that this can result in interesting magnetic properties as well as strongly enhanced thermoelectric performance. We therefore expect that this material can attract increasing interest from the viewpoints of both fundamental science and applications in the near future.
