Abstract

In this thesis, we study various modified gravity theories in 2+1 dimensions. First, we construct supersymmetric extensions of higher derivative gravity theories up to four derivatives of the metric. For a particular case, a systematic analysis of supersymmetric solutions is performed. Then, we turn our attention to a model without supersymmetry. We provide a classification of solutions under certain assumptions and find new solutions.
