Abstract

Synthesis and characterization of water-soluble insulated semiconducting polymers, based on polythiophene and polyfluorene with β-cyclodextrins as the insulating sheath. Molecule sizes were evaluated by SANS and AFM. In addition to enhancing solubility, this sheath also makes the conjugated polymer insulated so its structure approaches a molecular wire
