Abstract
Landgraf Carl of Hesse-Kassel made a Grand Tour to Italy around 1700 and was impressed by the villa Aldobrandini and its park and cascade in Frascati. Back in Germany he invited the Italian architect Guerniero to design a new water theatre in Kassel.
