Abstract

This article aims at analyzing the measures adopted by the European Union within the framework of the strategies to face the consequences of COVID-19, especially those necessary for strengthening from job security and labor guarantees. It seeks to determine the mechanisms that were initially thought of by European institutions that would enable a resumption of the European labor market, without forgetting the asymmetries existing in the so-called common market. To this end, the main instrument adopted was analyzed – the SURE Program – whose contribution was important to ensure employment conditions, as well as to minimize the negative effects of the pandemic. The deductive method was used to understand the premises that involve such a complex integration process as is the case in the European Union. Finally, the importance of the joint effort made by European and national institutions in combating the adversities caused by COVID-19 was verified.
