Unconscious thought beyond multi-attribute choice: A meta-analysis

Research output: Contribution to conferencePosterAcademic

Abstract

A recent large-scale replication attempt and meta-analysis of the unconscious thought effect showed that there is no reliable support for the existence of this effect in studies using a multi-attribute choice task (Nieuwenstein et al., JDM 2015). In the current study, we used meta-analysis to assess the evidence for an unconscious thought effect in studies investigating other aspects of human judgment and decision making, including creativity, lie detection, medical diagnosis, post-choice satisfaction, and moral judgments.
