Abstract
This dissertation reports which adaptation strategies occur among Moroccans and Turks in the Netherlands, and how they are evaluated. Furthermore, we discuss several other factors that are related to adaptation strategies, like identity management strategies, general well-being, need for social comparison, outcomes of social comparison, self-esteem, and frustrations about the position of ethnic minorities in Dutch society. The reactions of the Dutch to the distinguished adaptation strategies will be discussed too.
