Biocatalysis Gordon Research Conference

Activiteit: Organising and contributing to an event Academic

Description

The 2022 GRC will bring together world-leading researchers from academia and industry to discuss the latest advances in biocatalysis research and to speculate on future directions for the field. The combination of these speakers in one conference provides an outstanding opportunity to bridge fundamental and applied research and engage in active discussion. The conference will cover various cutting edge topics in the field, from new classes of natural and artificial enzymes to biocatalytic retrosynthesis and new enzyme cascades, to the development of computational and continuous directed evolution approaches for enzyme design and engineering. This advanced biocatalysis research will be complemented with a session dedicated to genome editing and genetic code expansion. These powerful tools are now becoming available to the biocatalysis community, facilitating the reprogramming of enzymes, metabolic pathways and cells, paving the road to new applications. Except for various lectures by invited experts in the field, the program will include poster presentations and short talks (selected based on the poster presentations). The hallmark of this conference is the outstanding ambiance that stimulates networking and creates long lasting contacts with colleagues.
