PATRAS: FROM POLIS TO COLONIA
In this Kolloquium, attended by the research staff of the ancient history department of the Goethe University, we discussed various literary and epigraphic sources that come from or deal with Patras in the Hellenistic and Roman period. The main question addressed during the session was 'how and why was Patras transformed from a Greek polis to a Roman colony, and what do the sources tell us about the nature of the society in the Roman period?'
