Comments in several newspapers and professional journals on the compatibility with EU law of the proposed plans to reduce the number of dairy cattle in the Netherlands

I was interviewed by national newspaper AD and several regional newspapers on the compatibility of the agreement between the dairy industry and the Dutch government to reduce the amount of dairy cattle in the Netherlands in order to stay below the ceiling for phosphate/nitrate emissions imposed by the Nitrates Directive. I have found these plans to be at odds with EU competition law and the EU Regulation on the Common Organisation of the Dairy Market.
