[The General Directorate of Historical Heritage has authorised the implementation of a General Archaeological Research Project (PGI) in the Roman city of Carissa Aurelia, located in the municipalities of Espera and Bornos. This site, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, has pre-Roman origins and was privileged by Julius Caesar, reaching the rank of municipality. Despite its importance, excavations have never been carried out in its urban centre, and only a few emerging architectural remains are known.]
