Since 2008, each year the NEV offers a Dissertation Award – a certificate + 1250 Euros – for the best dissertation in the field of Entomology. Eligible for the award are dissertations that have been defended during the preceding academic year (that is, between 1 August and 31 July) at one of the Dutch universities. The board of the Section ‘Entomologendag’ pre-selects the best three dissertations and forward these to the society’s main board for the final verdict. The award is handed out on the Entomology Day.
