Samenvatting

The phase motion estimation (PME) method is recognized for its advantages in structural vibration measurement, such as non-surface preparation and full-field measurement capabilities, making it suitable for structures with large and complex geometries. However, it requires convolving Gabor wavelets with predefined wavelengths, posing challenges and risking low-fidelity measurements. To overcome this, a new method, two-dimensional Hilbert transform motion estimation (2D-HPME), is proposed. 2D-HPME uses a two-dimensional Hilbert transform to estimate instantaneous phase information without predefined wavelengths, enabling time-domain vibration analysis. The method also explores empirical mode decomposition (EMD) for extracting modal parameters. Laboratory tests on a steel cantilever beam show that 2D-HPME outperforms traditional PME, with accelerometer measurements as a reference.
