Forerunners were the British anthropologist and Africanist E.E. Evans-Pritchard and the French historian Marc Bloch. Recent representatives of this trend are among others E. Le Roy Ladurie, C. Ginzburg, K. Thomas, P. Burke, R. Darnton, A. Blok and S. Schama.
