    Samenvatting

The PANDA experiment at the future facility FAIR will provide valuable data for our present understanding of the strong interaction. In preparation for the experiments, large-scale simulations for design and feasibility studies are performed exploiting a new software framework, PandaROOT, which is based on FairROOT and the Virtual Monte Carlo interface, and which runs on a large-scale computing GRID environment exploiting the AliEn(2) middleware. In this paper, an overview is given of the PANDA experiment with the emphasis on the various developments which are pursuit to provide a user and developer friendly computing environment for the PANDA collaboration.
