This thesis describes the investigation of some ternary sulphides and selenides of the transition metals chromium, vanadium, niobium and tantalum. The compounds investigated contain either a monovalent metal (Li, Na, K, Cu, Ag) or a large divalent metal (Sr, Ba, Pb, Eu) in addition to the transition metal.
