Samenvatting
In this article, we discuss a case study addressing Geographies of Disabilities in the city of Groningen (the Netherlands). The project ‘Mapping the Inclusive City’ comprises a community-based, participatory research project in which researchers at the University of Groningen (UG) collaborate with clients at ’s Heerenloo, an organisation that provides housing and care for clients with acquired brain injury, deafness with complex problems and chronic neurological disorders. The article focuses on the opportunities and challenges in developing and implementing a data collection method that enabled us to involve people with a disability as coresearchers. In doing so, we address what kinds of materialities, skills, knowledges and positionalities entered into the research process.
