    Samenvatting

In this paper a reply is given to the comments and criticisms raised by Buckley in his article on the meaning of multicriteria evaluation. Several issues are discussed, among them the weighting of criterion scores, the use of ordinal measures, and the relation between multicriteria evaluation and cost-benefit evaluation. Some attention is paid to the use of natural measures.
