Samenvatting

The present article focuses on the location of title 13 of the first book of the Justinian Code in the text of the Basilica. This location is not undisputed as Basilica title rubrics and textual testimonies such as the Basilica manuscripts do not concur, or even seem to contradict each other flatly. However, two indices titulorum of the Basilica - one of which saw its edition princeps only very recently - provide strong evidence that the compilers of the text of the Basilica adopted the Greek version of C. 1,13 into the text of B. 48,14.
