This thesis deals with strategic problems in hospitals in The Netherlands. In the first three chapters, a theoretical (conceptual) framework is developed to study strategic problems, using the terms 'strategic', 'problems', and 'hospitals'. In the next two chapters, two practical cases of strategic problems in two hospitals are analyzed, to illustrate this conceptual framework.
