Using Tokenisation in Support of a ‘Superficies Sustainable': A Dutch Case Study on LegalTech to Support Sustainability Goals

Samenvatting

Sustainability improvements to immovables create novel legal challenges. This contribution investigates an initiative proposed by a collaboration of scholars and practitioners issued in response to these challenges. Examining these challenges enables an exploration of methods other than those that are purely legal. It is argued that a clearly outlined technological solution could be used to support the legal intervention that is proposed, provided that it is applied in a nuanced, precise, and limited manner. This contribution aims to show that these challenges can benefit from a well-defined and limited implementation of legal tech.
